Author Notes: I know what you're thinking. Dear lord, another restaurant fic. I know! I've been working on it since September, so I'm sick of it, too. What originally started as a "omg, let's put them all in a restaurant!" fic turned into a rather long ode to family: the ones we're born with, the ones we leave behind, and the ones we create along the way. Also, the story is somewhat of a love letter to New York City, my beloved hometown. In a way, the fic is more about those two themes than the restaurant setting—which is good, because I know next to nothing about cooking. Therefore, please take any and all restaurant/culinary school descriptions with a grain of salt.

This is not a WIP; the story is finished, so there won't be a lag in updates, and I'll be x-posting the entire thing to various communities as each chapter dictates. The entire fic will be posted to st_reboot. The total word count is ~66K. Thanks to starsandgraces for being a fantastic beta, cheerleading for me throughout the entire process, and coining the clever interim title of "RestAUrant". Also thanks to seventeen76, who demanded encouraged me to write the fic when I was all, "But it's been doooone."
